Bricks
1. We only sell old, reclaimed materials. This means that they are not perfect: dimensions can never be stated with absolute precision, the materials are not completely symmetrical, small pieces or flakes may be missing, and lime residue or other traces of a previous life may be visible. We believe this is part of their charm.
2. Despite careful removal of old mortar, some bricks in a shipment may still have a little lime residue on them.
3. Despite careful sorting, some bricks in a shipment may show soot deposits. These can cause marks in your wall over the years.
4. Despite careful counting, the delivered quantity may differ slightly from the quantity purchased. This can be either more or less, but the difference will never exceed 2% of the stated quantity.
5. The outside of the pallets shown in photographs has been rinsed to show what the bricks look like after spraying them down. Bricks in the centre of a pallet may be dustier or dirtier. This can easily be removed with a pressure washer once they have been laid. Lime traces will almost always remain, however, as these are inherent to working with old bricks.
6. PLEASE NOTE: always allow 10% for breakage and cutting waste when ordering. Some bricks may also break during transport or handling. This occurs with new materials and is therefore even more likely with old materials. If your wall has two visible faces or is one brick thick, make this clear when purchasing. With some batches, the length or header face of certain bricks is less suitable. This does not matter in a half-brick wall with one visible face, but it may cause problems in a wall with two visible faces or a one-brick-thick wall.
7. If bricks are purchased without being viewed first, Van Dillen Antieke Bouwmaterialen accepts no liability for undesirable characteristics in the shipment other than a difference in the agreed quantity. What constitutes beautiful antique material is subjective and tastes differ. We therefore strongly recommend visiting us to inspect the material before purchasing.
Floor tiles
1. Although we do our best to prevent it, tiles may be damaged during internal or external transport. This will never involve many tiles. If it does, we will offer compensation in money or replacement material.
2. Tiles are purchased as seen. If they ultimately do not suit your home or interior, we cannot be held liable.
3. Despite careful cleaning of the tiles, unless stated otherwise, some tiles may still show traces of lime or other dirt.
4. Dirt on the underside can make tiles slightly dirty again during stacking and storage. Unless stated otherwise, the tiles have nevertheless been cleaned and will need no more than a light clean with a mop.

7. Always allow 10% extra for cutting waste and breakage when ordering. Finding exactly the same material again is often difficult, so it is better to order slightly too much than too little.
We do not accept returns for various reasons. Purchases are not subject to a right of withdrawal and, as a rule, cannot be cancelled or returned. If we make an exception, a cancellation charge of 20% of the total amount applies.
