These Groningen red handmade facade bricks have a strikingly long and slender format of approximately 24.5 x 5 cm. This combination creates a calm, horizontal facade, while the handmade texture and natural red variations retain plenty of character. The result is an old brick with character that does not look heavy or coarse.

We have selections with relatively few lime traces and batches with more pronounced lime variation. Using these separately or mixing them allows the final appearance to be tailored to the project. See the Groningen bricks category for other smooth and handmade variants.

These old handmade bricks work well for restoration and repairs requiring a long historic format, as well as for new builds and extensions with a distinctly traditional facade. Because of the brick’s length, matching existing masonry requires attention not only to colour but also to the exact height, length and joint size.
