Antique red moulded bricks in Putten

A beautiful old barn restored for a new lease of life

For this special project in Putten, we supplied a beautiful batch of antique red moulded bricks for the restoration of a characteristic old barn. The aim was to preserve the building’s authentic appearance completely while giving the barn a new purpose. By choosing original old masonry bricks, the new brickwork blends seamlessly with the building’s historic character.

The facade was built with old sand-faced red moulded bricks, a type known for its dimensional consistency, hard quality and warm red-brown colour nuances. The light traces of lime and cement left after the old mortar has been carefully removed by hand give every brick a unique, lived-in character. This creates a facade that looks authentic from the outset and is perfectly suited to both restoration projects and high-quality new builds.

What makes this project special is the way old building materials have been reused. The barn retains its original appearance while the facade can last for decades again. Reusing carefully selected antique bricks not only gives the building a timeless appearance but is also a sustainable choice that gives valuable materials a second life.

The finished result shows how beautifully old red moulded bricks work in traditional masonry. Their natural colour variation, subtle sand texture and artisanal appearance create a facade that is almost indistinguishable from original historic brickwork.

We are proud to have contributed to the restoration of this beautiful barn in Putten by supplying the authentic facing bricks. It is a project in which craftsmanship, authentic materials and respect for the past come together in a timeless result.
