Antique floor tiles in Loenen aan de Vecht

For a stylish renovation in Loenen aan de Vecht, we supplied a beautiful batch of antique floor tiles. The residents wanted an authentic floor with character and visited our warehouse to compare several batches of old floor tiles. They eventually selected a unique combination of yellow glazed traditional Dutch terracotta floor tiles and grey reduction-fired Dutch floor tiles measuring approximately 21 to 22 cm.

Combining these two types of antique floor tile creates a lively floor with abundant nuance and depth. The warm yellow tones of the glazed terracotta floor tiles contrast beautifully with the calm appearance of the grey reduction-fired floor tiles. No two tiles are identical, giving the floor an authentic appearance that modern materials can scarcely match.

Old floor tiles have been used for centuries in listed buildings, farmhouses and country homes. Their natural wear, artisanal production and rich history immediately bring warmth and character to an interior. These antique floor tiles are also highly sustainable because existing materials are reused and given a second life.

The finished project in Loenen aan de Vecht shows how timeless a floor of reclaimed Dutch floor tiles can be. The combination of different nuances, handmade character and lived-in appearance creates an inviting foundation that suits both country and classic interiors perfectly.

We are proud to have contributed to this beautiful project. It is a fine example of how carefully selected antique floor tiles and traditional craftsmanship combine to create a floor that will last for generations.
