Because of this unique quality, these tiles have been used for centuries in monasteries, townhouses and farmhouses in the Netherlands and Flanders. Today terracotta tiles are also used in modern spaces because it creates a feeling of warmth and openness. The subtle colour nuances and handmade look give the floor character.

Cleaning old terracotta floor tiles

Maintaining terracotta tiles and any type of floor type, is basically very easy. Vacuum the tiles regularly, then mop them with a pH-neutral cleaning product. Make sure to that the remains are removed from the joints. You can also choose to use an impregnating product to make the floor more stain-resistant.

We recover old floor tiles from historic buildings. Because they are given a second life, you may find signs of use such as stains on the tiles. These marks often add an extra unique quality. Non of the tiles look the same/
